The project examines the construction of narratives about extinction and adverted extinction in various museum settings. It will include a 3-year PhD position and a 2-year Post-doc who will both start in 2019.

The project includes cooperation with the Aust-Agder Museum and Archive for the development of a museum exhibit, “Beverens reise”, that traces the conservation of beaver in Norway and then reintroduction of the animal from Norway to Sweden. This has been one of the major subjects of Jørgensen’s research and research blog. The exhibit will open in 2021 to mark the 100th anniversary of the process of reintroducing beavers from Norway to Sweden.

Skystudie, Lars Hertervig, MUST collection

The second is a networking project “In the Clouds” which will facilitate an artscience workshop on clouds in culture.
