{"id":95,"date":"2017-11-15T14:13:35","date_gmt":"2017-11-15T14:13:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newnatures.org\/greenhouse\/?p=95"},"modified":"2018-01-26T12:44:29","modified_gmt":"2018-01-26T12:44:29","slug":"putting-the-human-into-a-sustainable-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newnatures.org\/greenhouse\/sharing-research\/putting-the-human-into-a-sustainable-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Putting the human into a sustainable campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Finn Arne and Dolly J\u00f8rgensen, as founders of The Greenhouse, presented the opening talk at a miniseminar on Sustainable Campus Development put together by Statsbygg (the owner of campus buildings) and the UiS\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uis.no\/forskning-og-ph-d\/vi-forsker-paa\/olje-gass-og-fornybar-energi\/miljoevennlig-energi\/vil-lage-smart-energilab-article120245-18654.html\">Forskningsnettverket for milj\u00f8vennlig energi<\/a>\u00a0(Research Network for Alternative Energy). Their talk stressed that we need to have three things to make a successful sustainable campus initiative:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lesbarhet (legibility)<\/li>\n<li>Gr\u00f8nn medborgerskap (green citizenship)<\/li>\n<li>Medskapelse (co-creation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The legibility part has to do with how environmental actions, goals, and situations are visualized for campus users, and how those users read and understand the visualizations. Green citizenship has to do with giving the people on campus the ability to make environmentally-friendly choices and creating a culture of environmental awareness on campus.
